The Codde Group goals for workforce development programs are to create educational programs and opportunities that prepare and produce a workforce with the relevant skills to succeed in the 21st century.
To accomplish this we’ve created the concept of “Education Enterprise Centers” which focus on workforce development at all levels include secondary school, post-secondary, and the workplace.
The purpose for creating an “Education Enterprise Center” is to engage students, educators, entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders and to develop a “Center of Excellence” which focuses on career counseling, student success, entrepreneurship, and mentoring.
The Education Enterprise Center (EEC) is a model program piloted with local secondary schools as well as vocational, technical and post secondary institutions. In addition, the program will include local business and industry partners. The Center will include staff with experts in education, career counseling, and entrepreneurship and will be a partnership between secondary schools, technical / vocational school(s), business and industry, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Labor.
The primary focus of the Education Enterprise Center includes the following three major areas:
- Preparing and providing a nation’s youth with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes along with the digital literacy skills necessary to succeed in the 21st century workforce;
- Preparing pre-service and in-service teachers to meet the challenge of fostering the human skills and capabilities necessary for leading through this century and beyond. It is said that the destiny of a nation is shaped in its classrooms and it is the teacher who is most important in preparing the nation’s youth to meet the workforce challenges now and in the future.
- Creating in-house industry programs which focus on basic workplace skills (reading and literacy, mathematics and numeracy, and other basic skills such as blueprint reading, statistical process controls, etc.) with goals that include improving quality, reducing errors and rejects, and improving on-time deliveries. Other benefits may include a reduction in absenteeism, fewer on-the-job injuries and claims, and improved morale.
