Dr. Codde has worked in Pakistan on multiple occasions. First, in her capacity as a professor at Michigan State University, she served as the interim in-country director of a very large program designed to reform pre-service teacher education. The program, PreSTEP, was funded by USAID and administered by the Academy for Education Development (AED). This assignment included establishing program offices in Islamabad, hiring staff, building partnerships with 15 Pakistani universities, interfacing with the Pakistan Higher Education Commission (HEC) and USAID.
The Codde Group was also contracted by a Dubai firm to design a program to rebuild schools destroyed by the Taliban in Pakistan’s Swat Valley. This included building relationships with the Pakistani government, military, Ministry of Education, and education leaders in the Swat region.
